CNC Turning FAQS
CNC turning is a subtractive manufacturing process that uses a computer numerical control (CNC) lathe. Material is removed from a workpiece that is held in a rotating chuck and cut by a stationary tool, forming the desired shape.
CNC turning works with a wide range of materials, including metals (like stainless steel, aluminum, brass, titanium), plastics (like ABS, nylon, polycarbonate), and composites. The choice of material depends on the part’s final application and required properties.
This depends on the specifications of our lathes. Generally, we can machine parts with diameters ranging from a few millimeters to several hundred millimeters and lengths from a few dozen millimeters up to a meter or more. If you have specific size requirements, please provide the details, and we will confirm if we can machine them.
We can achieve very tight tolerances. Standard tolerances are typically around ±0.05 mm (±0.002 inches), but we can achieve even smaller tolerances, such as ±0.01 mm, depending on the material and part geometry. Please specify the required tolerances on your drawings.
We don’t have a strict minimum order quantity. We can handle orders for a single prototype or for large-scale production runs. However, for small-batch orders, the cost per piece may be higher.
To provide an accurate quote, please provide the following information:
